Its been a summer of blushing brides, intense heatwaves, a million tourists and Fabulous hair and its not over yet….
This summer the heat intensified very early on and so did wedding season. Ibiza truly is a amazing place to get married. Each summer there are more and more brides choosing Ibiza as their wedding destination and I can totally see why.. Ibiza is where dreams are created and made..
Now what a summer it has been for stylistic I have just loved meeting all our brides and being part of your special day and their is many more brides still to come this month and October… Bridal looks this summer are a mixture romantic, bohemian, sexy and classic … Hairstyles are just excelling with hair pieces and extensions. With added hair we can create looks your hair may not.. So remember this when choosing your bridal style pondering over Pinterest, speak to your hairstylist for the day and see if they recommend hair pieces to create your look.. The great thing about hair extensions or hair pieces is that they hold a curl or waves better than your own hair. So your look will stay that way all day…
Stylistic is all about hair, coming into my 18th year hairdressing (yes that makes me feel old) I am just loving the new hair trends.. Styling and bridal hair has become a massive part of my business and as a true Scouser I do love a bouncy blow dry… Its such a femine look… Hair this summer has been about wanded waves, boho braids and more….
A little tip when your here in Ibiza especially if your a bride to be. or if you wearing hair extensions. The water here is very harsh so a little trick I do, on your final rinse when washing your hair use bottled water, this will put some moisture back into your hair and leave it feeling fresh… Another little tip silk pillow cases are the way forward for stopping hair matting, Maybe bring one with you… A girl has to do what a girl has to do to keep her hair at its best now.
Ibiza every year is becoming more and more glamorous and stylistic is here for all your HAIR needs…
Now with more brides to come I cant wait to meet you all.. During the winter I will write blog posts on some summer brides and showcase their hair.
When your little brother gets engaged, your over the moon for him and his fiancée. Then he tells you the wedding is in Mexico!!! Well you become ecstatic!!! Not only a family holiday of a lifetime but a wedding too! Two things I LOVE most!!!
Getting married abroad and only dealing with all your bridal details over email can be stressful for any bride but anything you do in the U.K before your arrival can only help matters! Katie the bride my now sister in law! Took control of lots of things UK side including having her flowers made to take over with her and all her table names and table décor! What Katie found helpful was of course little things like finding their Facebook page and speaking to other brdies for advice. This also saved my brother a fortune! Ha ha. One of the biggest pieces of advice I can give to getting married abroad is to join as many social media groups as possible that relate to your destination and venue. Social media will help you pick up tips and ideas. Not only that, its helps with all the excitement and build up!
Now back to our Mexico wedding!!! My younger sister and I are hairdressers which is always helpful at family and friends weddings!
On the morning of the wedding, all the girlys met up. No husbands, boyfriends or kids were allowed ( such a shame ) 🙂 We had breakfast altogether with a glass of bucks fizz and we were all extremely chatty and giddy for the day ahead! Katie the bride was calm and excited as we headed back the room!
Getting ready all together I believe is such a big part of your wedding day. Its all about the bride and spending time getting ready all girlys together! One of the key facts to help the preparation go smoothly is the schedule of hair & make up and giving yourself enough time so you can enjoy it rather than stressing! Katie loved it and was GLOWING! I love wedding morning’s for any bride, but for my new sister to be it was so nice to be so involved as I was a bridesmaid too! Me and my sister between us decided on the hair styles and worked together to create them. Even the bride Katie’s hair my sister created the shape at the back of her hair and I finished the front and the finishing touches! Team work 🙂 Us as bridesmaids went for a side up do of softly curls and height on top! Katie went for a romantic up do at the nape of her neck which showcased her beautiful hair vine and her cascading veil! Hair done, make up done by Katie’s sister who isn’t a make up artist but has a natural talent. Then its time to get the bride ready to become a Princess !
Katie put her wedding dress on and it took our breath away, all three of us! Katie has a amazing figure and the dress fitted her perfectly! She became a real life princess in front of our eyes! Just Stunning! It was really emotional, I do love a cry though! ha. Dress on all ready it was photo time then time to leave! Now this is when the nerves rush in for any bride! Such a wonderful powerful moment taking your final steps as a single lady!
When we arrived at the top of the aisle we could see the Caribbean ocean behind the wedding gazebo. Here we were met by the two page boys, may I say the cutest page boys I have ever seen! Being biased I know as one is my little Francisco and my Nephew Ollie my brother and Katie’s little boy! This then started the tears seeing the boys there it all became quite real! The music started and that was it! Katie was walking down the aisle to marry the love of her life!
Katie strolled down the aisle with her father with the biggest smile on her face that didn’t leave all day! As I was walking down I stole a look at my brothers face. I have never seen him smile like that he was gleaming with happiness, transfixed on Katie coming towards him! The vows being quoted in the Caribbean air was just love all around! Cheesy as it may sound but I don’t care when two people love each other so much all the guest absorb this and these two lovebirds really do!
The ceremony was very special and personal, with both mums doing a reading! Then it was confetti time and time to celebrate the new MR & MRS FAIRFELD on the beach in Mexico followed by a yummy dinner and private party by the pool! Arrribaaaa!
I want to wish the newlyweds all the best and to enjoy their journey through life together ! I believe in soul mates and you are definitely each others love you both and our Ollie pop!
Your wedding day was like a dream and a day we will all remember forever!
A holiday of a lifetime with all the family and a Fairytale wedding ! AM going to leave you with this line-:
”I wanna dance by the water underneath the Mexican sky”
Ibiza really is a crazy Island it is overrun right now and as its fantastic for business on the island and the survival of Ibiza I am really looking forward to September arriving. Dont get me wrong the island is buzzing and every night is the weekend…. But August heat will cool a bit and hopefully the roads will tame a bit too…..
You really would not believe this was the same place if you took a video out side my apartment now and in March say, those who have never been to IBIZA in winter would be amazed!!! I love the ever changing faces of it but I must say August is my least favourite month of all!!! But hey am not moaning I live in the sunshine … Honest ;0
I don’t have many brides often in August , If we do a lot are Teachers or work in a industry where is easier to get time off in summer time… I do have a few brides coming up in the next week so am excited to meet them!!!!
This summer I have found a challenge being a new mummy trying to work and have a husband,, I don’t know which or who is harder work sometimes! ha ha. That’s the thing with living away from family its the support network you miss so much. The nursery’s here are fantastic though and a lot more reasonable than the UK which is a good thing plus how good that my Francisco is being brought up bilingual. They have dance hours and they have splash time with paddling pools which is cute… I love the fact Francisco is outdoors a lot …
With September comes a lot of weddings which is exciting!!!! Even a bride all the way from Australia. My second wedding anniversary how that has happened ….. Plus its my baby boys 1st Birthday on the 26th!!!! Best year of my life even with all the emotional ups and downs motherhood brings us but I wouldn’t change it for the world!!!
Over and out ill be back with a bridal blog next!!!!!
The New wonder product that has hit our industry to help you have FABULOUS hair again!!
My salon in the UK started with Olaplex and I was hearing so many good things about this product I was intrigued and excited to go back to work with my team and see what this product was and is all about!
It never disappointed me this product can be used within colour so the colour doesn’t damage or as a stand alone treatment. When using colour in your hair this product gives the Tint like a silk lining so no damage is caused to the hair! Even with bleach! What is actually does is…. The products repairs broken hair bonds, these of course are broken down by chemical and heat damage.. Repairing your bonds improves the condition and the texture of your hair!!! Many people ask what’s the difference between a conditioning treatment and Olaplex well a conditioning treatment works on the surface of the hair and doesn’t last where as Olaplex works from inside the hair and repairs the hairs damage!
So Sold and I brought it out to IBIZA!! Hair can be even more damaged here due to of course the sun, pool sea and the water isn’t the best! So I introduced it to the people of Ibiza….
I recently did a stand alone treatment of my gorgeous Ibiza resident client Heather as you can see from the results how amazing does her hair look! This is what heather said…’ Colour is epic and hair feels tonns thicker and super smooth’ That will do for me 🙂
Everyone should try this product its especially good for your hair after a baby , which I have personally found. I am hearing so much good feedback from clients here and in the UK … One client even said her hair never grows past a certain length but with this product is has started growing and exceeding her expectations … So is this the holy grail of hair!!!
Book yours where ever that may be as remember ladies there is only one of you & Your worth it!
So the summer has arrived roads are busy beaches are full, yes IBIZA is well and truly open for season 2016!
Each year it still takes a bit to getting used to this island as it really is two different places come Summer to Winter! Which do I prefer people ask, this alone is the reason I LOVE Ibiza! As its like you live in two different places! Keeps life exciting!
So my first bride of the season arrived the beautiful Hayley. Hayley married at Cas Mila which we know I have a massive soft spot for being my wedding venue too! When I arrived the bride and bridesmaids looked gorgeous already without hair and make up done! The morning was very relaxed with everyone getting ready and stunning views from the hotel overlooking the mesmerizing mediterranean sea!
Hayley had a soft undo with height on top she wanted it to look natural as well as classy. The bridesmaids went for soft waves and half up to complement their dresses. As you can see she is gorgeous so wasn’t difficult to make this bride look good! I loved her dress and her bridesmaids soft pastel pink dresses seeing a lot of this colour this year, looks perfect over here in the sunshine! I just love the atmosphere build up when everyone putting their dresses on. You could feel the excitement in the room!
As you can see from the photos below the bride really did look stunning! Loved her look! Even them earrings! It was a pleasure being part of your day Hayley and congratulations to you and your husband on your future together! The bride said it was such a amazing day with so many happy memories! Life is about creating these times!
Now cant wait to meet all my other brides this season! Ibiza really is the place to get married its where your dreams become reality!
Rebecca got married in the beautiful Cas Mila a favourite of mine as that was of course my wedding too!
I first met Becki as she let me call her the week before her wedding for her bridal hair trial, she is a gorgeous girl inside and out and has the most fabulous long hair , perfect to work with. Me and Becki sat and discussed her look she was wanting or her big day and what she was wearing in her hair. She also showed me her dress I just said WOW. Becki works for Kevin Jon who is a ladies clothes designer am sure you have heard of him, if not check it out.. his dresses are beautiful and so feminine. Him and Becki and their team had designed and made her wedding dress so it was unique for her. As you can see on the pictures coming it really was breathtaking and suited Becki’s slim figure. The hair trial went well and the bride was happy with her hair. She was going to Ibiza rocks that night to swish it about.
Arriving on the wedding day, what a gorgeous summers Ibiza day it was. Arriving the bride seemed content and excited and was a pleasure working for. The look for the brides hair was a soft romantic curl, we pre pin-curled the hair and left it to set as Becki’s had her make up done by the fabulous Hannah. I work a lot with Hannah she is very talented make up artist and in the winter time works in Manchester in Bobby Brown so she is always keeping her skills up to date. When I took her hair out of the pins unravelling the curls and individualising them all, I then dressed it out giving Becki some height above her crown for her veil to sit underneath. Bit of back combing ladies is a must!
Once the veil was fitted me and Hannah left for the bride to get ready in peace. Becki sent me the pictures just recently and they took my breath away. Which were took by Ana Lui Studio by Iva. She just looked stunning like I knew she would her hubby scrubs up well too 🙂
All the best to you both for the future and maybe see you again in Ibiza!
Bridal season is definitely here and so are the Hot temperatures. The last Blog I wrote I was returning to the UK for my last visit at my salon along with two baby showers and my gorgeous Nephews christening 🙂 My last visit to salon was a very busy one I was fully booked with all my long standing clients plus lots of little bits to do, but I really enjoyed it , I am so lucky with clientele and the staff at The Salon each of them with their own personalities and characters make the salon what it is.
Back to the island it was all about weddings and of course the HEAT! I did love being cosy in UK snuggling into a duvet in bed and being able to walk round the shops without sweating, granted though I was still wet with the rain! Good old blighty! Here in Ibiza when I returned it seemed to be even hotter than before with my father in law here telling me its defiantly the hottest summer we have had in the past few years so it’s not just me and my pregnancy sweats!! Not that I am moaning honest am still smiling!
Each year I am here I work at new venues across the island this year I had the pleasure of working on Katie’s wedding in the stunning Can Gall and what wedding venue that is! A typical Ibizan country house which is over 200 years old in the north of the island. As you can see from the pictures below Katie was a stunning bride and her bridal party and so lovely to work for, the morning getting ready was filled with lots of smiles and laughter and you could feel the excitement in the air! Most organised mornings run smoother with room for all the bridal party to have their hair and make up done and this venue certainly had this.
Katie was calm and relaxed and you could see the happiness in her face! She looked beautiful before she even put her stunning dress on! I would like to wish you both a future filled with happiness and returns to Ibiza so I can do your gorgeous hair again!
Ibiza really is the place to get married and seems to be getting more poplular each year I have been talking to brides for 2016 which will soon be here! I can definitely see why people choose to marry here I did! ha.
I only have a few more weddings now this season as I go on maternity leave end of August but the brides are beautiful so looking forward to working on them!
Well what can I say season has definitely begun! I have been busy making brides look fabulous! Wedding season has for sure began and I have met some lovely beautiful ladies and been part of their special days! All the brides have been blessed with gorgeous sunshine and stunning sun sets. I just love the way each bride brings her personality to her own wedding . Every dress is just stunning this it’s why it is so hard deciding on your dress as there are so many beautiful ones out there! And when each bride gets dressed into her dress the smile is just beaming as that feeling you feel is just over whelming I still remember it and always will! Brides are going for all different looks this year too with their hair which is just fabulous but I would say the main look is very romantic and boho! Which I love!
Here is my Bride Ciara getting ready and what a Irish beauty she was… Here I worked with Hannah at Eyeibiza.co.uk..
We are having a sudden heat wave hitting Ibiza and all over Spain the last few days and I can say it is literally quite boiling!!! The wind is coming from the Sahara desert and is also warm! The beaches are full of people under parasols… The sea also is full! But Ibiza is looking so amazing right now and is buzzing.
I havent said as yet on my blog but I have a little Tulip growing I am 7 months pregnant and this heat is very testing! Luckily there are many pools around which I occasionally want to just dive in fully clothed ( very Bridget Jones sort of thing) but think people may think I am a but strange or mental so I wait till I get home for a nice cool shower or a swim in our communal pool! ;0 I am having the baby here in Ibiza and can say all my treatment here so far has been fantastic the hospital Can Misses is brand new after a renovation the last few years. The language for me can be quite difficult but luckily again my husband speaks the language so he is my translator coming too all my appointments with me bless him! So am having a little Ibiza baby!
I have more brides this week and I am looking forward to meeting them and have been chatting to brides for 2016! I also have my last trip in the UK 8th July for my last pre booked worked till Christmas in my salon in UK, which I am looking forward too to see all my loyal clients who have been with me since opening my salon 8 years ago. Then I have to stay put in case baby tulip arrives early… but not a bad place to be is it in Ibiza! The place i now call home!
So the weather is just amazing here at the moment feels more like July or August rather than May! Am not complaining honest! The Island is so much more busier now with the big clubs all opening in the next two weeks summer has definitely arrived!
So my first bride of the season is this week and I cant wait for it all to begin! I am loving the looks my brides are going for this summer , a lot of boho waves and soft romantic up dos, plaits, femine curls! Also plaits in bridal hair are popular if not for the bride herself then her bridesmaids or flower girls. A big part in bridal hair is added hair pieces or extensions this gives the bride the look she wants if your hair isnt the length or texture. Also the false hair tends to hold a curl or waves for longer as this is new hair so its not yet been damaged by styling , colour or uv rays. Here are a few of my top bridal looks I am loving right now..
Also with bridal a hair this year as you may have noticed I am loving a bit of accessorizing, it just’s adds that something extra! Looks fantastic on pictures too… I had my flower girls in flower headbands and they looked adorable. There are so many artificial ones around too that are just as pretty.
Before your big day make sure you are looking after your hair with regular treatments to make sure your hair is in the best condition to hold the style you want for your day. Also get regular trims even if growing your hair from your regular stylist! We don’t do split ends ladies!
I have been in touch with most of my brides discussing their look for the day and also timings so that the morning runs as smoothly as possible, after being on the journey myself it just gets me more excited for the brides as I know what is to come in the most special day of their lives! To each and everyone of you brides to be enjoy every single second! Especially in Ibiza as it truly is Magical!
Now we all want that salon look without having to go to The Salon, this often isn’t possibly and as a salon owner myself I am some what happy about this or I would havent a job! But here are a few tips and tricks on how to blow dry your hair the salon way!
Your first step for blow drying your hair should be when you have washed your hair leave it to air dry for about 15 minutes before adding heat to your hair this gives your hair time to self dry a little so it wont need as long to blow dry, also prep the hair with your products. Everyone should be using a leave in conditioning product if not or also a product for your desired look or shape.
Your Hairdryer is very important to this process of course and as hairdressers we spend alot on our equipment also the correct tools… Here is what you need….
Nozzle: Don’t discard this. It is key to a smooth look and keeps hair from getting too close to the heat.
Hairdryers : To be 1,800 watts and multiple heat and air settings
Round brush: Straighten strands, make ends flip, or create waves with this tool. Time-saving tip: The bigger the surface area of a brush, the faster the drying time.
New Brushes: When styling your hair the CORRECT brush is a must! Us ladies should be investing in good brushes, your brushes should also be clean of hair and product so they can grip onto the hair correctly! So if you have any brushes that you wouldn’t show off in public bin them today and go SHOPPING!!
Hair clip’s: It keeps layers separate and easy to manage and prevents damage caused by over drying sections.
Each section you take when blow drying your hair should be the width of the brush you are using, this controls the blow dry and also dries each strand of hair evenly. We should start from the nape of the neck when blow drying round to the sides then up to the crown and forward to the fringe area. I recommended you dry your fringe first so it doest have a part stuck in it from drying naturally.
Always point the dryer’s nozzle downwards to help smooth hair and create shine. Dry from roots to mid lengths to ends keeping the hairdryer at a distance from your brush , with your brush not touching it!
To curl ends, roll them under with a round brush, blast with heat, and set with cold air. For a straight finish, pull the brush through while drying ends with warm air; set with cold air.
Practice makes perfect and also visit a Salon, salons are always putting on blow dry offers at the moment too so go and teat yourself!
Remember to watch your stylist while in your salon too to pick up tips and tricks!!! This is a lesson in itself!
