I always say to my brides enjoy the bridal journey as its one that you will always remember. From the minute I got engaged and I know other brides too, I was all set out to plan plan plan. Magazines bought the next day! When the clock strikes midnight on New years eve that’s it , its your wedding year. Hens dos, bridal fittings, bridesmaids lunches and maybe another hen do…
I say why not go for it , Celebrate everything , When dates are confirmed , your dress arriving, buying your wedding shoes… A wedding organiser is key to plan all the details and of course the dreaded budget. Of course if your getting married on the Island that is Ibiza you must visit to check out your wedding venue and maybe meet your planner. Also any excuse to get away and even more so to Ibiza…
Ibiza is getting so popular each year getting busier and busier with weddings, I can see why this is. The island is so one of a kind. MAGICAL.
Here are a few little tips…
Be in contact with your wedding planner but don’t panic when they don’t respond straight away…
Each day of each month in Ibiza their is a wedding so don’t panic your time will come for all the final planning and attention from your planner
Sun cream and strapless swimsuits or strapless bikini’s you don’t want to look burnt or have tan lines
Follow all your people your using, florists, hairstylists. MUA and more all on social media
Planning and being organized the morning of your wedding makes it more enjoyable
Don’t have your room overcrowded when getting ready the morning of your big day
ENOY it all……..
I cant wait to meet my brides of 2018 UK and Ibiza, its going to be a great year!
When your little brother gets engaged, your over the moon for him and his fiancée. Then he tells you the wedding is in Mexico!!! Well you become ecstatic!!! Not only a family holiday of a lifetime but a wedding too! Two things I LOVE most!!!
Getting married abroad and only dealing with all your bridal details over email can be stressful for any bride but anything you do in the U.K before your arrival can only help matters! Katie the bride my now sister in law! Took control of lots of things UK side including having her flowers made to take over with her and all her table names and table décor! What Katie found helpful was of course little things like finding their Facebook page and speaking to other brdies for advice. This also saved my brother a fortune! Ha ha. One of the biggest pieces of advice I can give to getting married abroad is to join as many social media groups as possible that relate to your destination and venue. Social media will help you pick up tips and ideas. Not only that, its helps with all the excitement and build up!
Now back to our Mexico wedding!!! My younger sister and I are hairdressers which is always helpful at family and friends weddings!
On the morning of the wedding, all the girlys met up. No husbands, boyfriends or kids were allowed ( such a shame ) 🙂 We had breakfast altogether with a glass of bucks fizz and we were all extremely chatty and giddy for the day ahead! Katie the bride was calm and excited as we headed back the room!
Getting ready all together I believe is such a big part of your wedding day. Its all about the bride and spending time getting ready all girlys together! One of the key facts to help the preparation go smoothly is the schedule of hair & make up and giving yourself enough time so you can enjoy it rather than stressing! Katie loved it and was GLOWING! I love wedding morning’s for any bride, but for my new sister to be it was so nice to be so involved as I was a bridesmaid too! Me and my sister between us decided on the hair styles and worked together to create them. Even the bride Katie’s hair my sister created the shape at the back of her hair and I finished the front and the finishing touches! Team work 🙂 Us as bridesmaids went for a side up do of softly curls and height on top! Katie went for a romantic up do at the nape of her neck which showcased her beautiful hair vine and her cascading veil! Hair done, make up done by Katie’s sister who isn’t a make up artist but has a natural talent. Then its time to get the bride ready to become a Princess !
Katie put her wedding dress on and it took our breath away, all three of us! Katie has a amazing figure and the dress fitted her perfectly! She became a real life princess in front of our eyes! Just Stunning! It was really emotional, I do love a cry though! ha. Dress on all ready it was photo time then time to leave! Now this is when the nerves rush in for any bride! Such a wonderful powerful moment taking your final steps as a single lady!
When we arrived at the top of the aisle we could see the Caribbean ocean behind the wedding gazebo. Here we were met by the two page boys, may I say the cutest page boys I have ever seen! Being biased I know as one is my little Francisco and my Nephew Ollie my brother and Katie’s little boy! This then started the tears seeing the boys there it all became quite real! The music started and that was it! Katie was walking down the aisle to marry the love of her life!
Katie strolled down the aisle with her father with the biggest smile on her face that didn’t leave all day! As I was walking down I stole a look at my brothers face. I have never seen him smile like that he was gleaming with happiness, transfixed on Katie coming towards him! The vows being quoted in the Caribbean air was just love all around! Cheesy as it may sound but I don’t care when two people love each other so much all the guest absorb this and these two lovebirds really do!
The ceremony was very special and personal, with both mums doing a reading! Then it was confetti time and time to celebrate the new MR & MRS FAIRFELD on the beach in Mexico followed by a yummy dinner and private party by the pool! Arrribaaaa!
I want to wish the newlyweds all the best and to enjoy their journey through life together ! I believe in soul mates and you are definitely each others love you both and our Ollie pop!
Your wedding day was like a dream and a day we will all remember forever!
A holiday of a lifetime with all the family and a Fairytale wedding ! AM going to leave you with this line-:
”I wanna dance by the water underneath the Mexican sky”
So the summer has arrived roads are busy beaches are full, yes IBIZA is well and truly open for season 2016!
Each year it still takes a bit to getting used to this island as it really is two different places come Summer to Winter! Which do I prefer people ask, this alone is the reason I LOVE Ibiza! As its like you live in two different places! Keeps life exciting!
So my first bride of the season arrived the beautiful Hayley. Hayley married at Cas Mila which we know I have a massive soft spot for being my wedding venue too! When I arrived the bride and bridesmaids looked gorgeous already without hair and make up done! The morning was very relaxed with everyone getting ready and stunning views from the hotel overlooking the mesmerizing mediterranean sea!
Hayley had a soft undo with height on top she wanted it to look natural as well as classy. The bridesmaids went for soft waves and half up to complement their dresses. As you can see she is gorgeous so wasn’t difficult to make this bride look good! I loved her dress and her bridesmaids soft pastel pink dresses seeing a lot of this colour this year, looks perfect over here in the sunshine! I just love the atmosphere build up when everyone putting their dresses on. You could feel the excitement in the room!
As you can see from the photos below the bride really did look stunning! Loved her look! Even them earrings! It was a pleasure being part of your day Hayley and congratulations to you and your husband on your future together! The bride said it was such a amazing day with so many happy memories! Life is about creating these times!
Now cant wait to meet all my other brides this season! Ibiza really is the place to get married its where your dreams become reality!
Bridal season is definitely here and so are the Hot temperatures. The last Blog I wrote I was returning to the UK for my last visit at my salon along with two baby showers and my gorgeous Nephews christening 🙂 My last visit to salon was a very busy one I was fully booked with all my long standing clients plus lots of little bits to do, but I really enjoyed it , I am so lucky with clientele and the staff at The Salon each of them with their own personalities and characters make the salon what it is.
Back to the island it was all about weddings and of course the HEAT! I did love being cosy in UK snuggling into a duvet in bed and being able to walk round the shops without sweating, granted though I was still wet with the rain! Good old blighty! Here in Ibiza when I returned it seemed to be even hotter than before with my father in law here telling me its defiantly the hottest summer we have had in the past few years so it’s not just me and my pregnancy sweats!! Not that I am moaning honest am still smiling!
Each year I am here I work at new venues across the island this year I had the pleasure of working on Katie’s wedding in the stunning Can Gall and what wedding venue that is! A typical Ibizan country house which is over 200 years old in the north of the island. As you can see from the pictures below Katie was a stunning bride and her bridal party and so lovely to work for, the morning getting ready was filled with lots of smiles and laughter and you could feel the excitement in the air! Most organised mornings run smoother with room for all the bridal party to have their hair and make up done and this venue certainly had this.
Katie was calm and relaxed and you could see the happiness in her face! She looked beautiful before she even put her stunning dress on! I would like to wish you both a future filled with happiness and returns to Ibiza so I can do your gorgeous hair again!
Ibiza really is the place to get married and seems to be getting more poplular each year I have been talking to brides for 2016 which will soon be here! I can definitely see why people choose to marry here I did! ha.
I only have a few more weddings now this season as I go on maternity leave end of August but the brides are beautiful so looking forward to working on them!
So the weather is just amazing here at the moment feels more like July or August rather than May! Am not complaining honest! The Island is so much more busier now with the big clubs all opening in the next two weeks summer has definitely arrived!
So my first bride of the season is this week and I cant wait for it all to begin! I am loving the looks my brides are going for this summer , a lot of boho waves and soft romantic up dos, plaits, femine curls! Also plaits in bridal hair are popular if not for the bride herself then her bridesmaids or flower girls. A big part in bridal hair is added hair pieces or extensions this gives the bride the look she wants if your hair isnt the length or texture. Also the false hair tends to hold a curl or waves for longer as this is new hair so its not yet been damaged by styling , colour or uv rays. Here are a few of my top bridal looks I am loving right now..
Also with bridal a hair this year as you may have noticed I am loving a bit of accessorizing, it just’s adds that something extra! Looks fantastic on pictures too… I had my flower girls in flower headbands and they looked adorable. There are so many artificial ones around too that are just as pretty.
Before your big day make sure you are looking after your hair with regular treatments to make sure your hair is in the best condition to hold the style you want for your day. Also get regular trims even if growing your hair from your regular stylist! We don’t do split ends ladies!
I have been in touch with most of my brides discussing their look for the day and also timings so that the morning runs as smoothly as possible, after being on the journey myself it just gets me more excited for the brides as I know what is to come in the most special day of their lives! To each and everyone of you brides to be enjoy every single second! Especially in Ibiza as it truly is Magical!
Working on Ann Marie’s wedding was more than a pleasure! You see me and Ann Marie go back a few years, 4 to be correct! I first met this beautiful lady on a flight from Ibiza back to the UK. I was sat next to her and her now husband Paul…. Ear wigging on her and Paul’s conversation I heard that they where planning their wedding here in Ibiza, now as a new business over here in Ibiza, I knew it was my chance to maybe get a new client! Terrible it sounds but it turned out to develop not only in me doing Ann Maire ‘s hair for her wedding but also we struck a friendship am sure we will last for a long time!
I had passed my business card on and got chatting to Ann Marie 4 years ago this lady got home from her holidays to find they had brought more than expected home from Ibiza, a little bundle of joy she was pregnant with her now cute little boy Louis! So the wedding got delayed of course..
Ann Marie then got back in touch with me to tell me her news and we kept in touch! Then when she began to plan her wedding all over again I was actually planning mine too! Same church San Augustine and same venue Cas Mila at Cala Tarida! So there we where on our journey together her wedding was also only a month before mine!
Ann Marie was such an amazing help to me I really don’t think I would have been able to plan it the way I did with out her help! So all you brides to be don’t be scared to ask another fellow bride for a bit of advice!
On the day of the wedding I felt I knew Ann Marie family quite well as we had spent at least once a week chatting all night on Facebook sharing ideas and asking questions,,, what are your favours? what are your table names? Your friends and family can get bored with this but fellow brides love it like we did!!! Our husbands to be I think were glad we had each other to talk too 🙂 On the day of the wedding it was a hot August day the wedding party where staying in an incredible villa just up the road from San Augustine church. The wedding morning went smoothly with the bride herself beaming having her hair and make up done! Ann Marie’s dress was gorgeous and the bridesmaids dresses where beautiful too!
For Ann Marie’s hair we had discussed it many times if to have it up or down , now of course she was getting married in August so we had discussed the problems of heat and humidity. Ann Marie had decided to have her hair down in louse curls she had ordered a vintage looking headband to match her dress as you can see it fitted in perfect and set the whole look off I think! Her bridemaids were told they could have their hair how they wanted just to stick to a feminine look, which we did on each on the bridesmaids I think their hair complimented Ann Marie’s perfect. Each of them looked beautiful too especially Ann Marie daughter Emmy! Who looked liked a princess!
The key is for humidity is plenty of styling products and also a good idea to wash your hair the night before your wedding rather than on the day!
I had loved the theme Ann Marie had gone for as we have very similar taste! She had even made her own order of service which where very pretty! On her wedding day she looked stunning as you can see! I loved her dress and she was just glowing with happiness!
I was honored to be part of your day and Thank you for all the help you gave me! Here is to us boring each other talking about our weddings and everything else for years to come! 🙂
Weddings are always special but weddings in Ibiza seem even more, arriving at the hotel for this ladies special day. It was a perfect hot august day! A lovely hotel in Santa Eualria.
Arriving at the brides room I could hear them all giggling which is always a good sign. All the ladies where in the room very excited about the day ahead. I was working with a make up artist Hannah whom business name is Eyebiza. We set ahead to make the girls and bride to be ready for their day. We had pre discussed hair ideas via email and also of course before we started, getting to know each other also which is always good as you feel comfortable in each other company. The bridesmaids where going for very soft curl waves with a section of their hair up. The bride herself had beautiful long dark thick hair she was wanting more of a curl with a quiff at the front to flow into her hair. Styling all the family’s hair and being part of the morning is always quite special for me as it gets you all excited, you cant help but soak up the atmosphere and love in the room.
I believe for most brides like myself I had been looking forward to this moment as what woman doesn’t love getting pampered and preened!!
Each bride always have their own ideas that they bring to their wedding this bride had fans for her bridemaids rather than flowers which looked really Spanish. .
Another thing was this was the first time this hotel had held a wedding which could have been a bad thing but it wasnt as they couldn’t do enough for the bridal party.
The brides sister Stephanie has since sent me pictures and am sure you agree the bride Stacey looked stunning!
Just love being part of ladies wedding days so if you’re getting married here in Ibiza contact me for your bridal enquires!
Well I can say I am now a married woman! But my first blog about my wedding I want to tell you all about the week to ten days before!
Now like most brides to be the coming weeks up to your wedding can be a mixed bag of emotions! I actually loved all this one minute I couldn’t sleep, next I was on the phone to my mum in the UK stressing over last-minute bits! Getting everyone including the mother in law to go on missions. Last minute emails to the venue, church, florist, photographer…. Do you know we didn’t even decide our first dance song till the night before.. So many decisions to make!!
When the day arrived for my first arrivals I was up at the crack of dawn literally watching the sun rise on my balcony, wanting a glass of champers but settled for a green tea ( for the wedding diet of course) ! I got to the airport to greet my girlfriends, their other halves and their minis! Airports have been a mixture of emotions for me over the years but this day it was the best feeling it the world, it was the beginning of my wedding! This is when the fun would begin!
Now I did say on my big wedding diet the run up to the wedding I wasnt going to drink that much! Well the girls all arrived at the hotel and the drinks started flowing!! So I can say the drinking before didn’t last a couples of hours! ha ha. Each and everyday more and more of our friends and family arrived! Honesty each and every person that arrived was more and more exciting knowing these people had made this journey for our special day and a holiday of course.. Getting married in San Augustine church and having the reception in Cas Mila I had recommended everyone stay in the area on Port Es Torrent as Jose’s father owns a beach bar here called Bull Bar so this could be our base for the next two weeks!
The week before the wedding was great fun, hen dos, stag dos, going on a boat for the day round the island with the girls. This was special to me as I got to show them Ibiza, the stunning beaches, the coastline, amazing houses plus we got to sail round Es Vedra with me explaining the story of the magnetic rock… Very special. But then two days before the wedding the nerves kicked in! I found myself up every morning for breakfast but couldn’t actually eat much a mix of nerves and excitement….
The night before the wedding was our rehearsal dinner we had this in a new venue called Dharma up in port es torrent. Our friends and family where in different hotels so this was perfect as we were all together for the first time! This is when it all became very real! Having everyone with us apart from our friends from Ibiza and a few family members this was us! We all mingled and chatted and enjoyed a mix of bbq and paella!! We tried to introduce a few people to the Spanish food but unfortunately didn’t go down so well with some people not eating as most people wanted meat!! Leaving the venue i say my goodbyes as a Fairfield ! The last words from my husband to be was ‘ Kellie please dont be too late’ 🙂
So then it was I went off to my hotel where I was staying with my maid of honour and bestest friend of 31 years Gemma! The next day was to be my wedding day! The last 18 months of preparation and the day I had been day dreaming of since the day we got engaged!!!!!
I didnt think I would sleep but after a glass or two of Bubbly with Gemma we sure did!
Being a Hairdresser one of my favourite things about being a hairdresser is being involved in ladies most special days of their lives! This blog is about not only a client of mine from my salon in the UK but a gorgeous lady who has become a good friend of mine too. Now I have been doing Nikkis hair for many years now and have had many a giggle and dramas over the years listening to each others life stories. Now what do you know we both got engaged the same time Christmas 2012, I sent Nikki a very excited message expressing my News on Christmas Day and what do you know I got a picture message back of her stunning ring she had only got engaged on Christmas Eve!
Then both our journeys began! Nikki planned her wedding for June 2014 and mine September 2014 , so their we both where on the wedding journey exchanging ideas, pictures ( thank god for viber) and getting very excited with a fellow bride! As Nikki’s wedding was fast approaching we began the hair trails, we had two and then decided on something different on the day ( as us ladies do)… Which I quite enjoyed to be honest as Nikki has luxurious long beautiful hair so is fantastic for many styles.. When Nikki and Darren’s wedding day approached I was soooo excited for her with butterfly’s in my stomach. Nikki had decided on her venue The Mere which is a luxury hotel in Knutsford, Cheshire. The grounds of this hotel are just stunning and on the day the sun was gleaming . The suite Nikki had for the morning was amazing with lots of room for me and the talented make up artist Lisa to set up and began our working morning making the bridal party look beautiful which wasn’t hard! Nikki was just gleaming with happiness from the second we arrived! As the morning went on with breakfast being served and champagne getting popped, Nikki was just becoming more and more like a real life princess before my eyes! I had seen Nikki’s dress on photos but when I saw it hanging there it took my breath away! On the morning of the wedding we had pre discussed all the bridal partie’s hair again and of course the main ladies herself which we decided on something different from the trial not so different. The bridesmaids went for a waterfall curl pony which flattered their beautiful dresses. As I was finishing Nikki hair and her make up was complete the time came for Nikki to get dressed as we all waited outside.
Now this I believe it my special time with all brides and I am always honoured to see brides in their dresses first as to fit their veil!!!! Now walking in the room Nikki really did take my breath away she looked Stunning! Even nearly reducing me to tears! I fitted her veil and told her how amazing she looked and left her to her special time with her dad!
Seeing all the pictures and being on our bridal journey together has been emotional!.
I would like to wish you and your husband all the happiness in the world!! Cheers to the new Mr & Mrs Parkinson!
Whats even more lovely I asked Nikki about a three weeks ago how does it feel not planning your wedding anymore are you missing it . To which she replied ‘my day was the most amazing day I could have ever have wished for and wouldn’t have done it any other way’ .
From one bride to be to a wife thank you for letting me be part of your day! X
Well with my wedding only now less than 12 weeks away I had a lot of meetings last week and I want to tell you a bit about some of them. Now these are only my choices of whom I have decided to use on the island for my wedding needs!
Wedding flowers now when you get married abroad it can be difficult to get what you need especially when there is a language barrier , well not with the company I am using for my Flowers, Floral Dreams Ibiza. I first met the lovely Gary and Holly (who are a couple) when I moved to the island three years ago, I was organising a photo shoot for my website at the time, one of the shoots was a bridal shoot, so I asked them if they would like to get involved to which they agreed. 🙂
As soon as we met we struck a friendship, then as soon as I saw their work I knew when I got married these guys where the ones for me! So not long after our engagement when our date was set, I was straight on to Floral Dreams Ibiza
As soon as you meet the couple you will see that they are professional in everything they do, Their work is just outstanding and I am always amazed at Holly’s talent. In my meeting with them to discuss my wedding flowers I left feeling completely as ease and totally excited at what Holly is going to create for me!
So if you are getting married in Ibiza these are the florist for you but I would be quick as I know they are getting booking’s for 2016 already! Find Floral Dreams @ http://floraldreamsibiza.com/
Another meeting I had this week was with my Cake lady! Not only did we discuss the cake further we also got to taste some cake. Taking my mum and her husband Bob along they were very happy as I am still on my wedding dress diet they got to sample lots of delicious cake!!
The nice thing about my cake is I have sat down with Mitch who is the owner of The Cake lady and designed it ourselves with her professional input to what I can have and ideas she had for me! Mitch was as excited as I was which made the experience a good one with her professionalism standing out knowing her knowledge on cakes .My cake will be individual to our wedding and not just ordered out of a book. What I will say its going to have three different flavoured cakes!!!
I really am super excited to see my Wedding cake as I have gone for something a bit different (well we are in Ibiza after all) . Plus with Mitch’s talent I have seen from many of her other cakes am sure it’s going to be impressive! Find Mitch @ http://www.thecakeladyibiza.com/
It’s all getting a bit too exciting everything is just coming into place! Getting married along with all the little stresses defiantly is the best feeling in the world!!
