Summer is here with beautiful brides, a heat wave & a baby!

Well what can I say season has definitely begun! I have been busy making brides look fabulous! Wedding season has for sure began and I have met some lovely beautiful ladies and been part of their special days! All the brides have been blessed with gorgeous sunshine and stunning sun sets. I just love the way each bride brings her personality to her own wedding . Every dress is just stunning this it’s why it is so hard deciding on your dress as there are  so many beautiful ones out there! And when each bride gets dressed into her dress the smile is just beaming as that feeling you feel is just over whelming I still remember it and always will! Brides are going for all different looks this year too with their hair which is just fabulous but I would say the main look is very romantic and boho! Which I love!

Here is my Bride Ciara getting ready and what a  Irish beauty she was… Here I worked with Hannah at Eyeibiza.co.uk..

We are having a sudden heat wave hitting Ibiza and all over Spain the last few days and I can say it is literally quite boiling!!! The wind is coming from the Sahara desert and is also warm! The beaches are full of people under parasols… The sea also is full! But Ibiza is  looking so amazing right now and is buzzing.

I havent said as yet on my blog but I have a little Tulip growing I am 7 months pregnant and this heat is very testing! Luckily there are many pools around which I occasionally want to just dive in fully clothed ( very Bridget Jones sort of thing) but think people may think I am a but strange or mental so I wait till I get home for a nice cool shower or a swim in our communal pool! ;0 I am having the baby here in Ibiza and can say all my treatment here so far has been fantastic the hospital Can Misses is brand new after a renovation the last few years. The language for me can be quite difficult but luckily again my husband speaks the language so he is my translator coming too all my appointments with me bless him! So am having a little Ibiza baby!

I have more brides this week and I am looking forward to meeting them and have been chatting to brides for 2016! I also have my last trip in the UK 8th July for my last pre booked worked till Christmas in my salon in UK, which I am looking forward too to see all my loyal clients who have been with me since opening my salon 8 years ago. Then I have to stay put in case baby tulip arrives early… but not a bad place to be is it in Ibiza! The place i now call home!

Ibiza the changing Island!

So summer season is fast approaching us! The island is so busy not with tourists but with workmen all their paintbrushes are out in force!!! This time of year it is all about getting ready for the season ahead! Ibiza really is a different island winter to summer which I have said before and I enjoy it all! I am Very lucky living here in Ibiza for many reasons but the main one being its like living in two different places once the seasons change! Even as I write this I have the consistent sound of drilling and labouring work over the road from me as I think the hotel is getting done up ready! Nothing like last-minute but its all very manana here and Fabulous! This gets you excited as knowing what is coming! You can feel a change in the air!

The direct flights from all over the UK have started now too, which makes such a difference for us islanders who commute back to the north of the UK! British Airways have just said they are putting more flights on for next winter from London city airport which is great for the island! But I am positive thinking for them or any airline to put on some flights from up north just maybe 2 a week!!! Goooooooo on  Ryanair or British Airways I am not fussy! I dare you!!..

Many tourists walking around this time of year I tend to feel a bit sorry for them as if they don’t hire a car some areas are still very much closed maybe the odd bar and restaurant! If your staying down Figuretas way there is one bar you must visit a local Irish bar called Father Jacks! Also a visit to Ibiza town this time of year is lovely as it’s not too hot to walk round the cobble streets and up to the top of Dalt Vila! This picture is courtesy of my brother as I didn’t make it to the top! But the view is breathtaking! Plus a visit to Las Dalias Market in San Carlos!

One of the main positives of visiting this time of year is the quietness, the peacefulness is still here . On a hot sunny day you can have a whole beach to yourself, some of the top restaurants on the island have opened and you will get a table for what ever time you like plus there are often great menu offers on!!!

I am loving this time of year I have been meeting my brides of 2015 and getting very excited for them and also having time to spend with my Ibiza residents clientele! Who often go for a new hair do for summer season too!! Well new season new hair do! Why not!

So remember Ibiza isn’t all about the clubs and the bad press its gets, Ibiza really is a stunningly precious Island! Come & see!!

Winter Hair tips

So winter is arriving here in Ibiza too granted it is a few degrees higher than in good old blighty but still less daylight more hours of darkness, it’s the time of year our bodies are changing to keep us warm rather than cooler, we have our heating on in our homes so now is as good as time as any than to take that extra care of our hair!

page-3-title

What we don’t realise is our indoor heating can be just as damaging as blow drying our hair regularly. So here is a few top tips to keep our hair in tip-top condition!

TIP 1. Don’t leave the house with wet hair as not only will you catch the death of cold like our mothers have always told us, but your hair can freeze and break easily!

TIP 2. Avoid taking hot showers , use warm to luke warm water this will not dry your hair out and keep moisture in your hair. You will also notice by doing this your hair will be smoother and glossier!

TIP 3. When going outside cover up your hair with a cool hat or scarf this will protect your hair from the elements!

TIP 4. Condition, condition, condition! Dry heat and cold weather sap hair of moisture. Because dry hair breaks easily, the most important thing you can do during the cold months use a more intensive daily conditioner and a once a week treatment.

TIP 5 . Wear your hair in some funky updo hairstyles during winter. Not only will this limit your hair’s exposure to the elements and dry air, they are beautiful and wonderfully festive!

TIP 6. A little tip if you live here in IBIZA the water here isn’t the cleanest or purest especially worse in some areas than others. Every now and again give your hair a rinse in bottled water you will notice the different instantly!

TIP 7. Now our sleep in called beauty sleep for a reason to look after our hair while sleeping, sleep on a silk pillow case! This will reduce bed head and split ends!

TIP 8. Eat a well-balanced diet, I have got into juicing this year and I cant believe the difference in my skin , hair and nails! It a perfect way of getting all your vitamins in one glass!

TIP 9. Of course drink lots of water we forget how good this is for us in general!

TIP 10. Now this should go without saying get your hair trimmed every 6 – 10 weeks. Hair can self cut itself if not trimmed regular! Go on Book now with your stylist get your hair ready for Christmas! Tis the season to be FABULOUS!

Go on try a few of these tips if not all of them!

Wedding of Mr & Mrs Ennis

Weddings are always special but weddings in Ibiza seem even more, arriving at the hotel for this ladies special day. It was a perfect hot august day! A lovely hotel in Santa Eualria.

Arriving at the brides room I could hear them all giggling which is always a good sign. All the ladies where in the room very excited about the day ahead. I was working with a make up artist Hannah whom business name is Eyebiza. We set ahead to make the girls and bride to be ready for their day. We had pre discussed hair ideas via email and also of course before we started, getting to know each other also which is always good as you feel comfortable in each other company. The bridesmaids where going for very soft curl waves with a section of their hair up. The bride herself had beautiful long dark thick hair she was wanting more of a curl with a quiff at the front to flow into her hair. Styling all the family’s hair and being part of the morning is always quite special for me as it gets you all excited, you cant help but soak up the atmosphere and love in the room.

I believe for most brides like myself I had been looking forward to this moment as what woman doesn’t love getting pampered and preened!!

Each bride always have their own ideas that they bring to their wedding this bride had fans for her bridemaids rather than flowers which looked really Spanish. .

Another thing was this was the first time this hotel had held a wedding which could have been a bad thing but it wasnt as they couldn’t do enough for the bridal party.

The brides sister Stephanie has since sent me pictures and am sure you agree the bride Stacey looked stunning!
