Summer has arrived with my first bride a Irish beauty…..

So the summer has arrived roads are busy beaches are full, yes IBIZA is well and truly open for season 2016!

Each year it still takes a bit to getting used to this island as it really is two different places come Summer to Winter! Which do I prefer people ask, this  alone is the reason I LOVE Ibiza! As its like you live in two different places! Keeps life exciting!

So my first bride of the season arrived the beautiful Hayley. Hayley married at Cas Mila which we know I have a massive soft spot for being my wedding venue too! When I arrived the bride and bridesmaids looked gorgeous already without hair and make up done! The morning was very relaxed with everyone getting ready and stunning views from the hotel overlooking the mesmerizing mediterranean sea!

Hayley had a soft undo with height on top she wanted it to look natural as well as classy. The bridesmaids went for soft waves and half up to complement their dresses. As you can see she is gorgeous so wasn’t difficult to make this bride look good! I loved her dress and her bridesmaids soft pastel pink dresses seeing a lot of this colour this year,  looks perfect over here in the sunshine! I just love the atmosphere build up when everyone putting their dresses on. You could feel the excitement in the room!

The bride said it was such a amazing day with so many happy memories! Life is about creating these times!

Bridal season is here 2015!

So the weather is just amazing here at the moment feels more like July or August rather than May! Am not complaining honest! The Island is so much more busier now with the big clubs all opening in the next two weeks summer has definitely arrived!

So my first bride of the season is this week and I cant wait for it all to begin! I am loving the looks my brides are going for this summer , a lot of boho waves and soft romantic up dos, plaits, femine curls! Also plaits in bridal hair are popular if not for the bride herself then her bridesmaids or flower girls. A big part in bridal hair is added hair pieces or extensions this gives the bride the look she wants if your hair isnt the length or texture. Also the false hair tends to hold a curl or waves for longer as this is new hair so its not yet been damaged by styling , colour or uv rays. Here are a few of my top bridal looks I am loving right now..

boho-wedding-hair-styles-2014-ideasBridal-Musings-hair-tutorial-shootbridal-braids-boho-hair-styles-2014-with-flowersAlso with bridal a hair this year as you may have noticed I am loving a bit of accessorizing, it just’s adds that something extra! Looks fantastic on pictures too… I had my flower girls in flower headbands and they looked adorable. There are so many artificial ones around too that are just as pretty.

Before your big day make sure you are looking after your hair with regular treatments to make sure your hair is in the best condition to hold the style you want for your day. Also get regular trims even if growing your hair from your regular stylist! We don’t do split ends ladies!

I have been in touch with most of my brides discussing their look for the day and also timings so that the morning runs as smoothly as possible, after being on the journey myself it just gets me more excited for the brides as I know what is to come in the most special day of their lives! To each and everyone of you brides to be enjoy every single second! Especially in Ibiza as it truly is Magical!

Winter Hair tips

So winter is arriving here in Ibiza too granted it is a few degrees higher than in good old blighty but still less daylight more hours of darkness, it’s the time of year our bodies are changing to keep us warm rather than cooler, we have our heating on in our homes so now is as good as time as any than to take that extra care of our hair!

page-3-title

What we don’t realise is our indoor heating can be just as damaging as blow drying our hair regularly. So here is a few top tips to keep our hair in tip-top condition!

TIP 1. Don’t leave the house with wet hair as not only will you catch the death of cold like our mothers have always told us, but your hair can freeze and break easily!

TIP 2. Avoid taking hot showers , use warm to luke warm water this will not dry your hair out and keep moisture in your hair. You will also notice by doing this your hair will be smoother and glossier!

TIP 3. When going outside cover up your hair with a cool hat or scarf this will protect your hair from the elements!

TIP 4. Condition, condition, condition! Dry heat and cold weather sap hair of moisture. Because dry hair breaks easily, the most important thing you can do during the cold months use a more intensive daily conditioner and a once a week treatment.

TIP 5 . Wear your hair in some funky updo hairstyles during winter. Not only will this limit your hair’s exposure to the elements and dry air, they are beautiful and wonderfully festive!

TIP 6. A little tip if you live here in IBIZA the water here isn’t the cleanest or purest especially worse in some areas than others. Every now and again give your hair a rinse in bottled water you will notice the different instantly!

TIP 7. Now our sleep in called beauty sleep for a reason to look after our hair while sleeping, sleep on a silk pillow case! This will reduce bed head and split ends!

TIP 8. Eat a well-balanced diet, I have got into juicing this year and I cant believe the difference in my skin , hair and nails! It a perfect way of getting all your vitamins in one glass!

TIP 9. Of course drink lots of water we forget how good this is for us in general!

TIP 10. Now this should go without saying get your hair trimmed every 6 – 10 weeks. Hair can self cut itself if not trimmed regular! Go on Book now with your stylist get your hair ready for Christmas! Tis the season to be FABULOUS!

Go on try a few of these tips if not all of them!

Tips for brides when getting married abroad

I thought I would write a little blog on a few tips for all you brides to be getting married not just in Ibiza but hot climates. These are just things I have come across when working on wedding here in Ibiza and hopefully this will help you not come across these problems yourself!

Now first of all when you and your bridal party arrive at your destination the party normally begins as even though it is your wedding it’s all your guests and of course bridesmaids holidays! Now as us brides know we can decide what they wear etc but we can’t tell they what to eat and drink when they are on holiday! Now if your wedding is not till a week after you all arrive this is where I have seen disasters happen! Like on the big day the bridesmaids haven’t tried their dresses on for a few weeks just half hour before the ceremony and they put them on!! o no they don’t fit! Now I am not saying this happens all the time but it has happened and I have had to sew bridesmaids in too their dresses! Lady of many talents you see! 🙂

So top tip one don’t get your dress to fitted or took in too much as remember we all swell in the heat (that’s my excuse all the time anyway) . Also don’t leave it till last-minute before the ceremony to put your dress on as this wedding was a 45 minutes late and the poor bride was very stressed!

Another top tip shoes!!! Now we all love our shoes I am really thinking of going for it with my shoes, I have always wanted a pair of Louboutin’s or Jimmy Choo’s and I think now is the time to treat myself as if I can’t for my wedding day then I never will!!! But anyways again remember you feet can swell in the heat so may be not so strappy shoes!

At my wedding as I know all my girlfriends with be all heeled up I am putting just next to the dance floor a flip-flop basket! So my guests can keep on dancing all night long without the pain of their shoes stopping them…

Weddings abroad means also you are dependent of a lot of people turning up ie hairdressers , make up artists even to your wedding car! I would make sure you personally make a connection with these people, add them on Facebook and Twitter so you can see their work and what they are up to business wise before your big day!

If you have a wedding planner they keep in touch with them with emails and never be afraid to ask away. My wedding planner has been really good and sent me a lot of information. All this leads to a more relaxed wedding day!

With my wedding getting closer am sure like all your brides to be it is the most exciting times! My mum is over in Ibiza beginning of July , I literally can’t wait as I am going to see the venue and decide on seating plan, meet with my cake lady and also a meeting with my florist Floral Dreams (WHOM have just been in Hello magazine should I point out) So I will let you know!

I think all these details on the run up to the wedding arranging it all is a great excuse for spending time with your closest and always an excuse to celebrate with a glass of bubbly or two!!!
